Chicken Harvest Class

Poultry is for the cook what canvas is for a painter, or the cap of Fortunatus for a conjurer.
— Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

We all eat chicken, or we enjoy the notion of eating chicken to such a degree that much of the time we eat what could only notionally be considered chicken.

But the chicken has a nature to scratch, peck, hop, flutter, forage - all outside, of course (thus, sadly, the prevalence of the “notional chicken” on the marketplace - which never sees the out-of-doors in its short lifetime - and the relative scarcity of chicken per se).

Our Chicken Harvest Class will not only bring you on a journey through slaughter, plucking, eviscerating, chilling, and packaging a pasture-raised chicken per se, but will also provide a chicken per se for you to take home for to engage in the delights of culinary exploration.

Our next Chicken Harvest Class is TBD:

  • Tuition is $150 per person (maximum of 5 participants in each class).

  • Bring hydration and snacks. Prepare to get your hands dirty!
